1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the Essential Placements Student Portal at portal.essential-placements.com ("the Portal"). The Portal is operated by Essential Payments Limited, trading as Essential Placements (company number 16730700, 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX). By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or over and a current or recent student or graduate to use the Portal. You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
3. Your account
Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away at info@essential-placements.com if you think someone else has used it.
4. Our service
We help students find and prepare for placement years, internships and graduate roles. We do this by matching your profile to opportunities, sharing opportunities from our partners and other sources, and offering optional coaching.
We do not guarantee that you will be offered a placement or a job. Opportunities may come from third parties. We try to keep listings accurate and current, but we cannot guarantee every listing, and roles may close without notice. Hiring decisions are made by the employer, and any placement contract is between you and the employer.
Some placements may be unpaid. Each listing shows whether a role is paid where that information is available. You should check that any placement meets your university's requirements.
5. AI preparation plans
The AI-generated preparation plan is general guidance based on what you tell us. It is not professional careers, legal or immigration advice. Check important decisions yourself.
6. Paid coaching
Fast Track Career Coaching is an optional paid service bought through PayPal. Its price, scope and delivery are described at the point of purchase. You have the statutory right to cancel within 14 days of buying. If you ask us to start the coaching within that period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for any coaching already delivered.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- upload false information, or content that is unlawful, offensive or not yours to share
- try to access other users' data or interfere with the Portal's security
- copy or scrape listings, or use the Portal to send spam or recruit for other services
8. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of your CV and profile content. You give us permission to store and use it to provide the service, including sharing it with employers when you agree. The Portal's design, text and branding belong to Essential Payments Limited.
9. Suspension and closure
You can close your account at any time by emailing info@essential-placements.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
10. Liability
We provide the Portal with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for:
- employers' decisions or conduct
- third-party job listings or websites
- losses that are not a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. We will show the new date at the top and tell you of significant changes.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
